Temple has the distinction of being the demographic center of Texas.  It is within 3 hours of four major cities in Texas; Austin, Dallas, Houston & San Antonio. It is located 45 minutes north of Austin, offering the perfect compromise between a welcoming small-town living and the hustle of a big city.  It continues to grow its amenities for residents, while maintaining a safe, family-friendly, caring culture. Temple was ranked by the Council for Community and Economic Research as having one of the lowest cost of living in a metro area in the nation. 

It is the world headquarters for the McLane Company and Wilsonart International. It is the home to one of the fastest-growing healthcare systems in the 20th century, Baylor, Scott & White Health.

Temple Independent School District is a diverse, vibrant 6A school district with more than 8,500 students.  They have over 200 National Merit Scholar Award Winners who have graduated from Temple High School.

Wildflower Country Club is a natural gem in the Temple golf community. The course is nestled among rolling, green hills and graced with natural ponds. The course was designed by Leon Howard, and offers a challenging and rewarding experience for the avid golfer, whether novice or professional.   The Sammons Golf Course is an award-winning, municipal golf course that is open to the public year round. The course was originally designed by John Sammons and it opened in 1922.  Golfers’ Choice Golf Advisor rated the course as one of the Top 25 Most Improved U.S Golf Courses.

Climbers, campers, athletes and everyone in between can hit the ground running, competing and soaking up the great outdoors in Temple. There are nearly 45 parks to choose from for year-round access to open spaces, parks, and lakes.  The area is home to 60-plus sports facilities, including tennis and basketball courts, golf courses, and softball, baseball and soccer fields. Rock climbers can improve their skills at the Summit Recreation Center’s indoor beckon rock, featuring 20 foot high walls, 4 automatic belay stations, multiple routes, and will challenge the experienced and novice climbers.
