Copperas Cove

Kempner

Known as “A City Built for Family Living”, Copperas Cove is nestled in between five hills in Central Texas, in southern Coryell County, neighboring to Fort Hood. It started out in the 1870’s as a small rural ranching and farming community, and has grown to the largest city in Coryell County.  There are a variety of neighborhoods offering many options in housing styles, prices, and architectural designs in areas with views of the hill country.  It still has rural living opportunities with developments with plenty of acreage with wildlife wandering on the land.

Copperas Cove Independent School District is a recognized school district by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for excellence in education. They have a Pre-K center, six elementary schools, two junior high schools, and two high schools serving more than 8,200 students.

Outdoor recreation is bountiful in the eight city parks, swimming pools, tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields or golfing at the City’s Hills of Cove Golf Course. Copperas Cove has also been recognized as the bike/run capital of Central Texas with the Chamber of Commerce hosting several bike runs and festivals during the year.
